This time of year 2 years ago, after going through a few medical problems - we thought we would never be able to have a baby. We even gave up on the thought of trying! A few months later on 7/15/2009, our lives changed. I remember clearly sitting at home craving chicken. When my husband brought it to me, the smell and taste just made me want to throw up. I took one bite and I couldn't even think about taking another. Never thought anything. My husband left for the evening and while he was out, I thought..."Could it be???". It wouldn't hurt to take a test...so I did. In SECONDS, the test read positive! I was in SHOCK! All I could do was cry! I didn't think I'd ever get pregnant! I was an emotional wreck! I wanted to tell my husband in person, so I waited for him to get home. In the meantime, I called my sister to share the news! How I got through telling her??? I have no idea...I couldn't stop crying!! My husband came home and I handed him a letter. After giving me an odd look, he opened it and read it. It said "Will it be a boy...or will it be a girl? We don't know. But one thing is for sure...You're going to be a DADDY!!!". He was so shocked that all he can say was "Are you sure?". LOL! I thought the same thing. I called the Dr. first thing the next morning and they had me go in for a test. It was true! I was expecting. We couldn't figure out dates, so the Dr. decided to do an ultrasound to see how far along I was. I was 9 WEEKS ALREADY! I had NO CLUE! No morning sickness, no nausea, no nothing! The rest of my pregnancy was a breeze. Despite the nervousness and fear of what was to come... I enjoyed every single day of being pregnant.
Here we are now. Lola is 11 months old today. Reality has sunken in that she will be 1 year old next month!! Where has time gone?
The love we have for her is unexplainable. She has brought so much joy to our family, especially after experiencing some difficult times. We look forward to seeing her grow up, seeing her personality continue to develop, & seeing her change every day.
Most of all we're so proud to know that we are her mommy and daddy...
....it's all because two people fell in love.....
Here are some photos of my journey with her... The inspiration to Baby's Breath Handmade!
My dimpled beauty at 11 months.......
